Mark Hillier is a self taught artist raised in Blaketown, Newfoundland, and now lives in Portugal Cove – St. Phillips with his wife Tracy.
It was while he was in High School that Mark was first introduced to painting when he signed up for an Art Course. Mark then took full advantage of his surroundings by taking walks thru the woods sketching the many trees, birds, and landscapes the he would come across. Mark was shown how to take these sketches and transfer them to a canvas using brush strokes. After High School he decided to put his painting on hold while he attended collage to pursue an Information Technology Diploma.
After establishing a career in IT, Mark was drawn back to Art when he came across some of his old sketches and paintings while doing some spring cleaning. He picked up some supplies and started painting once again. Mark paints primarily in Acrylics but has used oil’s in some of his older work| |  | "Afternoon Adventures"
